Elder Avery Rhodes Mission

This was a very good week at the online-mtc! Things are really starting to become normal , as my new life as a missionary . I can see myself starting really adopt and enjoy the routines  and schedules  of the days. The classes and studying aren't a burden at all and I can now see myself  really enjoying almost everything about them. Some cool things that I have learned is to be patient and work hard! This week was so cool with the language and classes! I went from really only understanding about maybe half of what the instructors said to almost every word this week! Very cool!  One cool scripture that I have recently come across is Luke 1:37 which reads, "For with God, nothing shall be impossible."  -What I love about this scripture is it's simplicity...This scripture tells us that ANYTHING is possible through the love and merits of God, however big or small.  Well I am now almost 3 weeks into the MTC! Things have been going well although learning a new language is not the easiest thing ever!! That's for sure!! But, I can now say all that I want to say in my personal prayers in portueguse! Also I have an investigator learning about the church who's name is Carlos! (He is actually just another teacher but I don't think we are supposed to know that haha). My companion Elder Peterson and I have taught him 2 lessons 15 minutes long in Portuguese and they went really well! It's super difficult whenever he asks questions in Portuguese and I just have to sit for a few seconds. think about it, and then just FULL SEND it!! And then laugh about it with him haha! It was a good week and my district (The 10 people in the class with me) are way cool and we all have been becoming really close!! It's cool because we are all in the same boat and are feeling the same way so we can really rely on each other!! They are the greatest and all ...

       This past week I started the MTC! (Missionary Training Center). As everyone knows I was actually supposed to leave for Brazil on August 4th and go to the training center down there! But, because of the pandemic going around I have to be doing an "Online" training for the next 6 weeks.     It has been going well but is obviously not the easiest thing in the world! My days consist of waking up, working out, personal study, companionship study, and then 2 two 3-hour classes to learn Portuguese and to learn how to be a missionary. It's funny because I thought that they would have taught me how to be a missionary first and then transition into the language study but nooooo! They teach you how to become a missionary in PORTUGUESE so I'm definitely lacking a little in that aspect haha.      All has been well and I have been enjoying it more and more every day! I know this church is true and I can't wait to share that ...
